More thanks – and some youtube stuff

I have gleaned so much info from you guys, it’s insane. I really
appreciate every one of you taking your time to answer my once very
n00bish questions on gfx processors, slabs and so on. Great stuff.

To that end I’ve created a couple of youtube vids that more or less show
“where I’m at” these days, both harvesting knowledge from the Jitter-List.

The first one is me drawing freestyle 3d openGL with a Lemur:

The other one is different – it shows an implementation of the Boids
bird flocking algorithm, where I’m guiding virtual critters around the
display.

As in the rest of my work they are centered around controlling larger
amounts of generative data.

Oh, and my flickr page has been updated with some lovely math shapes,
also generated with the help of you lot!

I hope you enjoy it,
Cheers,

Andreas.

Those videos are very cool! And the music is great, is it being played realtime or is it playback?

The boids stuff looks good. Nice to see someone actually putting a
Lemur to use…

Thanks Gus,
they were actually just some old tracks I threw in there for some audio.
So playback only, yeah.

Thanks, Nicholas!
Well it’s “just” jit.boids3d controlling a jit.gl.multiple controlling a
jit.gl.gridshape – to quote Kelis:
“I could teach you – but I’d have to charge!”

From what I can tell, you can probably recreate it using recent forum
posts combined with the jit.boids3d help patch.

Of course, then you’d also have to buy a Lemur…

Of course – where do you think I started?! The jit.boids3d help patch
uses a mesh, but that of course comes pretty damned close to what I
demoed – the real fun starts when you shove in a sketch or jit.gl.model
or something… a model of a bird, perhaps?

Yeah, or a 20$ usb joystick… Or a mouse ;-)
