I am making an animation moving some quads around in jit.gl.sketch, and I want to further process that with some jit.gl.slabs.

is the best method to go with jit.gl.asyncread?

then do i need to have separate jit.gl.render contexts? one for the jit.gl.sketch and another for the jit.gl.slab processing chain, which will end with a jit.gl.videoplane?

Use @capture to capture your sketch drawing to a texture.

Is there an example like this floating around?

I tried adding the "@capture [name]" to the jit.gl.sketch obj, then creating a new render and window setup with a jit.gl.texture with the @capture_buffer [name] and sent the begin_capture message, but nada.

When i send a 'texture [name]' to a jit.gl.videoplane, all i get is a checkerboard....Im a little at a loss. I can get things working via jit.gl.asyncread, but its not the most efficient.

I found the texture-copytotex.pat in the jitter-examples folder (funny how almost everything is in there ;)

but i still couldn't quite make heads or tails out of it and what I am trying to do. I still get the default texture (checkerboard) when it looks like I have it set right....hmm...a tip in the right direction would be most appreciated...

sorry, your patch is a bit dificult to follow..

after gl.texture you can do a slab chain..

yeah, sorry. its a little cracked - patches are always a peek inside someones brain - heh. i should go to mountain somewhere and clear the cobwebs...

the example was great - i finally beat my patch into submission. I think my problem was that I was leaving things set to automatic and hing were not getting banged in the correct order. looking at your example has also helped me to make things more legible. many thanks.
