I want to create a patch using motion tracking to trigger sound files and FM synthesizer. I remembered seeing a similar post before but cannot find it in the archives. I know cv.jit is a good choice to start. But which objects in cv.jit are better for this situation ? Any suggestions ?

Thanks.

I think you might want to firstly check out the cv.jit objects under the “movement” group. If you go to the object guide, you can search by group.
The objects are: [cv.jit.framesub]; [cv.jit.HSflow]; [cv.jit.LKflow]. [cv.jit.track] is also a good one.

Hope this helps.

cv.jit.blobs.centroids is great, especially with only one thing to track. with multiple things to track, cv.jit.label, though there are some issues with the numbering “switching” from blob to blob over the X-axis. Keeping the numbering consistent is a definite problem that has yet to be resolved. That said, the cv.jit library is excellent, and the numbering issues are to be expected once you dig in and see how they work…they index from the left top and scan to the right, so when blobs cross over each other’s X axis, they switch. Hopefully some clever workaround will surface, and likely there are some I don’t know about.
