MotorMix Ping Input/Ping Echo messages

February 24, 2008 | 5:05 am

Hopefully this isn’t a silly question but does anyone know what the
"Ping Input" and "Ping Echo" messages are used for on the MotorMix?
I’ve searched the cmlabs.net site, and the C74 site but haven’t found
anything.

In the developer guide, Ping Input (hex: 90-00-00, Received Messages
section, pg:11) and Ping Echo (hex: 90-00-7F, Transmitted Messages
section pg:10)

Thanks

This is a wild guess, but: if you send a Ping Input to the Motor-Mix,
you probably get a Ping Echo as a reply. (It’ll be a heartbeat
signal, akin to running status.)

That’s it, good guess. Thanks a lot for the help!
