is there any possibility to track mouse clicks in max, running in the background of another aplication?

getting the x y data via [mousestate] is working, but getting the clicks is`nt.

not working because Im on PC, on which [hi] seems not to recognice mices.

- Via some external aplications like "mouse data to midi converter". then sending the midi to max via virtual midi channel.

Could find some converters, but all of them seem not to work properly.

the goal is to get mousemovements and clicks from operations on a simple graphic programm into max, which is running in the background. There I wanna control sound parameters with that data.

any Ideas? tried already for hours and it`s driving me crazy.

This thread might answer some of the questions, I don't know about detecting the clicks (this one is used to "create" clicks, wheel motion, and key presses), but probably there's a way to go the other direction and detect them. Uses mxj, get the "autobot.zip" file way at the bottom. Then I'd suggest looking around java help pages to see how it could be modified to detect clicks, it's probably quite simple, and I think should work in the background while another app is running.

checked it out. but for me theres no way doing it in java, because i just dont have a single clou about it..

found another way for working arround my problem...its kind of a far way but it works. 

I installed a programm called "sounding keyboard and mouse", which basicaly let you trigger sounds for mouse and keyboard movements, clicks and hits. So I feed the audio triggered by mouse clicking out of the computer and back into Max. there I analice it to separate click downs and click ups. At the end there is a simple and nice bang for every click.

Its working like a charm...has kind of an analog flavour, and is not ellegant at all. maybe ellegant in a rustical kind of way....what ever.
