mousepointer drawing interference

On my windows machine, the mousepointer interferes with the drawing of
jit.window and jit.pwindow. This is noticeable using jit.gl.handle for
example (just use the helpfile and see the square space surrounding the
pointer). I was never aware of it, but now I’m doing UI stuff with
jit.pwindow, and it really bothers me. Is this different on mac computers?
Is there some kind of setting that is responsible for this?

I am thinking about hiding the mousepointer to manually draw it using ogl
while the mouse is over the UI element. Is that the way to go?

got it. It’s because I disabled some hardware acceleration (including
mousepointer) in windows to solve problems I’ve had with crashes. I’ll just
keep my fingers crossed and turn the acceleration back on again.

hello

i’m trying to grab incoming signal from a scalar microscope m2 under
maxmsp4.6b11-jitter 1 in a macbook pro 2.0 GHz MacOS 10.4.7 …
unsuccessfully :

when sending message getvdevlist to jit.qt.grab it doesn’t recognize
any scalar m2 device.

more infos :

1. scalar m2′s last version driver was successfully installed

2. scalar application USB shot works correctly and correctly displays
m2′s signal

3. scalar m2 is recognized after sending a getvdevice message to
jit.qt.grab, when running maxmsp4.5.7-jitter1.5.2,

4. scalar m2′s images are normally displayed under maxmsp4.5.7-
jitter1.5.2

5. i’ve installed ioexperts drivers, without any change in the above
described behaviour

Is it possible that the drivers you’ve installed are only compatible
with Rosetta? Otherwise functionally, there shouldn’t be any
significant difference in the way we open and report installed
devices in 1.6 as opposed to 1.5.2

hello Thijs,

did your mouse cursor have a shadow? shadow wants to cause some flickering
on some pc’s. you can turn it off somewhere in control panel->mouse.

bye,

hi jose,
did you find solution for your scalar problem? I’ve run into the same problem today. The support from scalarscopes just send me their latest driver and it works with the scalar.app, but not in jitter. Also the newest ioexperts beta doesn’t do it.
I’m on a MacBookPro 2.16
