Movie audio crossfading

June 11, 2008 | 6:38 pm

I am relatively new with max/msp jitter and I have had lots of luck making videos do what I want them to. Now my problem is cross fading the audio from two movies. I have tried to utilize the jitter and msp tutorials, but have had little luck finding anything that doesn’t include delays or something of that nature. It is probably a very easy thing to do but I would appreciate it if anyone could possibly point me in the right direction.

Thanks

1. search the forum.
2. look at spigot~ object. OR
3. extract audio from your movie to an audio file. load into buffer~. control with groove~. sync the video to the right-most output of groove~.

I have utilized all these objects but haven’t had any luck mixing them without any distortion or delay.

If you don’t want any further processing on your audio, you could
simple map your xfade to send the appropriate [vol $1] message to the
jit.qt.movie objects.
