for a visual performance i created a patch. on my intel core duo, 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro (2.5 Years old) I get ca. 18 Frames/ Sec. Yesterday I tested a brand new i5 MacBook, 2.5 GHz, and for the same Patch I get not one frame more per second. I expected at least double Speed.

Two movies run in the patch with only 720x576 Pixels. The movies are rendered in the Codec Foto-Jpg of Final Cut, the Codec that has according to my comparison with all the other codecs, seems to produce the highest Playback FPS in Max.

Who come the new Mac is so slow? What codecs do you use?
