One is the standard video looking all the time.

Then there is a special video that is triggered by a touch screen.

At the moment I am trying to make things as basic as possible.

what is the best way to have a video looping, and once i bang, overlay another video until it finishes and then go back to the looping one?

I have tried with jit.qt.movie but I have not found something that signals the end of a video or the current frame.

Is it better to have a counted or a metro and play a video as images?

ok, I have something but I need some help / suggestions.

so far I have two videos, once I hit bang the video swap and when the "short video" on the left finishes the one on the right starts in loop mode.

this is about what I needed except that the trigger should always start the one on the left.

so not really a trigger but a bang that forces the short video to start and the looping video to stop.

any suggestion on how to do this? below I have copied the basic max patch, ugly I know but this is 20 minutes of fiddling...
