I'm very new to working with Jitter so please forgive my very naive question.

I'd like to go from white to black within a jitter matix with an very smooth and slow fade. Is it possible to do this using the line~ object?

I had a look at the jitter tutorials but found using (jit.op @op +) a little limiting as it only accepts integers.

For linearly changing brightness values, you use line or bline. To control brightness, you can use jit.brcosa.

Oops. The previous example I posted has one mistake. The "* 40." object should be replaced by "* 25.".

Also, I realized that your question was about using an MSP signal to control the brightness. So in that case I'd recommend using a combination of line~ to create the fade and snapshot~ to report it as a float. Like this:
