I've been dabbling around with an arduino for communication between max/msp and the external physical world for a while now using serial usb.

Its pretty good . But i need more control with PWM . to be able to select the frequency for example.

I wonder if anyone here knows of an alternative method to control PWM with max? perhaps an alternative micro controller? or a way to make a home made PCB board?

Have a look at maxuino. You can send easily create PWM output from the arduino using this.
