multi dimensional control ?

The 2d x-y control lets you fade between 4 different parameters.
Is there an easy way to create a multi dimensional control,
for example a 4d control (an octagon) that would allow me the ability
to fade between 8 parameters? Is there an existing javascript
control that does this?

I’m not sure how close this is to what you are looking for,
but Oli Larkin made a very nice parameter interpolation system
for Max called int.lib which is available on his website :

http://www.oli.adbe.org/max.htm

Essentially it allows you the ability to fade between any number of
parameters, rather than being restricted to 4 or 8.

It’s open source and I think mostly Javascript-based, but as far as I know
it requires Jitter at the moment.

It’s somewhat similar to the Metasurface in Audiomulch, in that
it allows you to create presets or snapshots of parameter values and
place them in a 2D plane, and then move a cursor around that represents
a weighting of each preset and hence each parameter value. Though they
differ in other ways, such as that int.lib uses a gravitational system
whereas the Audiomulch Metasurface is based on Voronoi tesselation.
