not sure AT ALL but i would say than IF each patch goes to only one 

speaker/group of speakers this speaker/group is accessed only by this 

if more than one patch plays on any given speaker/group of speakers 

going through one dac~ enables yo to control the send volume - and 

__i would say, by using one dac~ you can not go wrong

if more than one patch plays on any given speaker/group of speakers 
going through one dac~ enables yo to control the send volume - and 
prevent clipping the dac
