multiple video ins on windows

June 5, 2006 | 5:40 pm

yeah, I know it’s that time again for this topic :)
my question is…let’s say I find a card like this:
http://www.cop-security.com/pages/15_QC40.html
and I want to try to find out if it might work with jit.dx.grab.
Is there a specification that I should watch for or is there a specific question that I can ask the manufacturer that will let me know that buying this card will likely not be $400 down the drain?

Peter.

so i posed the question, in so many words, to the makers of https://www.webcamsoft.com/en/vc400.html:
will it work with jitter?
The response is, in somewhat garbled english,
"In general, software access to video capture cards thru VFW or WDM capture driver. VC400 provides and does both very well."
So, this card would probably work out of the box with jit.dx.grab, huh?

Insecurely,

Peter.

if you buy this, please tell how it preformes.
have you considered using a 4way quad splitter and using submatrix?

that would be too low res…and, really, i probably only need 2 inputs, but haven’t found that card yet

I am not sure about 2 input cards but I have very good luck at work with
WINNOV Videum cards.

is that the Duo or Quattro you are using?

quattro. it has four inputs and a configurable Video console so you can turn the streams on or off and route them. It can also be accessed through the WDM driver.

i think it listed for 500$ but you can get one for 4ish if you hunt around.
