of my main patch with the extension .mxb, .mxb61 and .mxb62 ?

I most certainly did not do that myself.

What system are you on? I get this sometimes, too, and I've always wondered why. I'm on OS X, and I always just figured it was some sort of dodgy Finder thing... But it would be interesting to know.

These seem to be some sort of backup thing.  I got in Finale too until I
found the switch to turn it off.

I get this problem on OS X, but only when working on our managed 

network (OS X Server) - and then we get it often. Any ideas on why 

MaxMSP might not play well over a network (app. on local machine, 

documents saved to/read from server accounts)? Any suggestions 

greatly appreciated on getting it to work more consistently.

from what i've read on the thread, this is not a max problem, it's a os file-permissions problem (or sys-admin problem).

make sure all directories have read, write and execute permission.

might be overkill, but might solve the problem.

and now you do not have the permission to change or edit your self 

Never thought that the fear of internet intrusion got us in this

Thnx for all the replies, consider this:
You have bought yourself a computer
You have aquired an Operating System
You have bought yourself a programming enviroment
and now you do not have the permission to change or edit your self  
written file's
