max is not support on the new intel macs yet. you will need to wait
fro a new version of max to be released.
Did you get Max to run, besides the error messages?
someone said it’d be released this week… is it next week, now? just curious; so I can stop checking the d/l page!
yes max run but no java.

This is what you call false information.
We have made no announcement regarding a release date.
someone on this forum said on Fri, 10 February 2006 @ 10:10:
"… in the shortly to be released 4.5.7 version of MaxMSP on both platforms. Expect the update in the next week or so."
that’s ok, though, i totally respect cycling’s desire/tradition of not making such release date announcements, formally… i just wanted to confirm that i wasn’t seeing things.
This is referring to a maintenance update that will be released shortly,
not the Mach-O port.
The term "both platforms" refers to MaxMSP on Mac OS X (PPC only) vs.
Windows XP. The Mac OS X version running on Intel processors is the
same platform as the one running on PPC chips. If I understood
correctly, the new version of MaxMSP needed to be ported to the Xcode
IDE from CodeWarrior, a process that, according to Steve Jobs’
announcement at the WWDC 2005, can take months to accomplish. So
let’s give David Z. and his team some breathing space, and wait for
the new hardware to become more widely available. I, personally,
would prefer to trade in my PPC Mac mini (being my backup computer)
for a Intel model, and perform rigorous tests with the upcoming
universal binary version of MaxMSP, before doing the big step and
getting an Intel replacement for my current Powerbook.
"both platforms" means "Mac (PPC) and Windows". The 4.5.7 release is
a bug-fix release for the currently supported platforms. The
Universal Binary release will be coming sometime (non-specified)
I whant to no if you find a solution for this java error because I have the same message but whit a Mac MINI Intel. It seems that we need a upgrade for intel universal.
