Hi, I am new to MAX MSP but have some programming experience. I am a performer (mostly classical guitar) and want, as part of a demonstration, to perform a work that involves both sound and visuals. In short I'm exploring the theme of synaesthesia in art and hope to perform a standard work for classical guitar, which will (via a microphone and MAX patch) activate some visual effect in the form of color on a computer screen.

Has anyone developed a patch that can, for example, calculate values for velocity and then use these values to manipulate some object that displays color? I am happy to buy plug-ins etc. if need be? Hope this is not too vague! I just need to get a handle on what might be the best approach at this stage and this is my first contribution to this forum. Thanks in advance, your time is much appreciated.
