I'm new. I'm going through each of the tutorials and I'm stuck somewhere.

I'm using Max4Live, which I understand is Max5. “Max Basic Tutorial 8: Keyboard and Mouse Input”

Near the end of the tutorial it has “Creating an 'intelligent' patch”. I'm unable to produce the necessary results as presented in the first paragraph and unable to get any results for the first step in the second paragraph. It's possible that I'm not understanding the instruction.
