As I’m getting deeper into Max/Msp I realise my math skills need some help. I’m currently trying to deal with summation’s and logarithms but I don’t understand these concepts fully. Can anyone suggest good resources (books) for someone with a less mathematically inclined brain?

So….I’m not the only one then.

Musimathics by Gareth Loy is highly recommended; Curtis Roads Computer Music Tutorial is easy on the maths.

this was the best math book I had to read during my study: http://www.amazon.com/Differential-Equations-Boundary-Value-Problems/dp/0131862367/

(reminds me, I need a refresh :-)..)

Maybe you’ll find this interesting:

http://cycling74.com/forums/topic.php?id=31686

Though it doesn’t explain math concepts, it does show how to interpret some math examples with Max circuits.

Best,
