Changing port number doesn’t help.
Anyone recognize this problem?

Sounds like something is blocking all your ports. Are you on Windows?
Do you have the software firewall on?

At this moment of testing only three powerbooks connected through a simple hub on ethernet.
Two with OS 10.3.9 and one with 10.4.5
It is possible to send and recieve with mjx net.maxhole.

We did clean install of OS10.4.6 on external harddrives, rebooted, as connection work without problems. So an OS problem between OS 10.3.9 and 10.4.6

This doesn’t sound likely. 10.3.x and 10.4.x should all be fine in
this regard. Most likely it has something to do with the network
settings. If you were using a LAN, note that all IP addresses of all
machines must be on the same subnet. Perhaps the subnet mask wasn’t
properly configured, or the IP addresses were in disjoint subnets.
