new patch for your consideration

Hi All

I recently experienced a Max/MSP breakthrough. Suddenly I can understand what I’m doing and I
have a clearer sense of how to get Max to do what I it to. I imagine that many of you know what I’m
referring to.

Anyway, I’ve been hard at work on a patch for a new composition. The part that I’ve finished is an
expansion of the modsquad_redux patch from the examples folder. If you’re interested/willing I’d
appreciate any comments or suggestions that you have. The patch and two supporting files are
located here:

I look forward to your feedback. Thanks in advance.

David

Hey, quite a cool re-hashing of the redux things, certainly takes the thing to a higher level + i really like the option to add the stutter.

would be nice however to have the ability to slice into different amounts of slices ( if it does this and I wasnt looking hard enough best appologies)

Only other suggestion is that maybe you look into real onset detection instead of using the simple slice method. That way you can create something more recycle-esk and have some fun that way.

I do have a patch that does this in an OK fashion so if you wanna see it feel free to e-mail me and I’ll send you a copy.

Thanks for taking the time to look.

it doesn’t do this yet… it’s something I’m planning to add at some point (also would like to make the slices different sizes when I have the time)

I’m not sure what you mean by this, but I would love to look at your patch and see.

Thanks

Very nice.

One possible enhancement for the filtering controls: If I play slice 3 on steps 1, 2, and 3, and I turn on filter 3, then it filters slice 3 on all of those steps. I know this is by design, but it would be nice if I could choose to filter by step instead of by slice, so I could use a slice multiple times but filter it differently at different parts of the loop.

I wouldn’t necessarily want the filtering controls to work this way instead of the current approach, so maybe you could give the choice for how to map the filter controls in the UI.
