New release of cv.jit

July 7, 2008 | 3:40 am

A new minor update for cv.jit is available for download.

This version has been tested under both Max 4.6 and Max 5 in OSX and Windows. I haven’t encountered any problem. However, since I was not able to reproduce the problem of cv.jit.sum not being recognized by Max 5, I would appreciate any confirmation that things are working (or not).

There is a single new object added to the collection, cv.jit.snake, which computes active contours, a point sequence that tries to fit itself to image contours.

The biggest change with this release (and for me it’s quite a big one) is that cv.jit is now open source. The licensing terms were always vaguer than they should have been, but now the source is released under the LGPL. Source and project files are available from the usual download link.

Again, do not hesitate to let me know of any problem.

This is excellent news!

Are you going to set up version control?

Thank you for continuing to update (and now open-source!) such a wonderful library.

Thank you so much, again, for updating this amazing resource!

One little issue: in my eagerness I donwloaded and installed your update, and everything runs fine except cv.jit.snake: when loading the object it asks for cv100.dll which it can’t find on my system, then output "Error 126 loading external cv.jit.snake" to the Max window. What have I done wrong / missed out on?

thanks yet again
nadav

hi nadav, current (windows?) version is missing some opencv dll’s, u need
cv100.dll libguide40.dll and cx100.dll and copy to the max search path (i
put it in support).

You haven’t done anything wrong, I let one slip through the cracks. There should be no dependencies. I fixed the problem. For Windows users, please download again.

Apologies for the trouble.

Jean-Marc

Hello, Jean-Marc !
I’ve little question about your externals –
Can you tell about limitation of number of points that find by cv.jit.features? It’s 256?
Thanks for your work!
