New user with questions about Max/MSP – Jitter – Ableton Live & more…

OK, so i’m pretty much a newbie to the Max/MSP, Jitter world…

I’ve been using Live for a lil while now, composing a lot of music and working on live performances with it…

I also have done tons of video, motion graphics, etc. and have a couple of friends who’ve shown me Max/MSP and what they’ve done with it as far as audio goes…

now i’m excited to start messing with Max/MSP as far as audio goes, but i’m really interested to start seeing where i can take it all as far as combining my audio with all my other video work through Jitter…

now i must apologize if this has been dicussed, but i wanted to know if this is all possible and how can you use Ableton Live with Max/MSP and is it possible to even use Jitter and possibly even a Lemur with it all?

does this make any sense? cause if i’m thinking of this correctly, sounds like it could be possible and could be a hell of blast trying to do!!!

;]

please someone let me know wassup!!!

thanks for any and all advice…

hello,

welcome to the wonderful world of customized creations…

You can certainly combine all these tools together, and I run Max/MSP with
Live all the time – both to turbocharge the MIDI capabilities of Ableton,
and to process audio.

If you are on a mac you can use jackOS or Soundflower to pass audio between
the applications – or build your own VST’s using Max’s pluggo objects to
make your own plugins. Not a specialist in jitter myself, but there are
certainly many options here too.

Not sure if you had any spcific quesitons in mind – the general answer is
“yes”, have a look through the max-msp tutorials, or scan them for subjects
that interest you and then take a look at the examples, good luck, seb.
