Newbie S.O.S. – Max/Msp and Palm / Windows Mobile

October 16, 2008 | 5:30 am

I am developing various things with max/msp and was thinking about getting standalones running on palm os, or windows mobile.

What do I need to do? I will assume there will need to be some kind of go-between app for palm os or windows Mobile to be able to run max apps, but do they exist? Has someone else tried this already? I realise that it is probably easier said then done, but at least if i could be pointed in the proper direction – then I could begin the long process of bruteforcing my app into the operating system.

Any help would be appreciated.

first try to compile Pd for your PDA, then port your patch to Pd,

good luck…

If this is a S.O.S, better get a doctor fast, this isn’t a newbie task
at all, I am Maxin’ for almost 20 years and couldn’t do it. I wouldn’t
want to either, as as soon the project is finished the PDA is out of date…

P.S. there is no Max and no runtime out for PDA’s, but maybe a netbook
would do it? you can install XP on them and thus run Max and its
standalones. Max will only run on x86 or PPC processors…
