Does anyone know how to transmit start/stop messages out of max to another
program? Like I want to be able to use key and select 32 to use the space
bar to start another computer running another sequencer. Any ideas?

I don’t understand, are you talking about through open sound control? Midi,
yes I know, but which objects transmit start stop messages or how do I
generate them. And whats UDP?

UDP http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Datagram_Protocol

Basically, you can transmit data via sockets which means OSC/UDP/TCPIP
or MIDI. For sockets, use udpreceive/udpsend also take a look at mxj
net.maxhole’s help file. There are a plethora of networking objects
mentioned there. It should give you a good start.
