So I’ve been in this three week process of reading and researching and learning. I know a decent amount about Max MSP and Jitter and I’ve been using Ableton Live for about 2 years.

It’s thesis time for me and I would like to create an audiovisual instrument in order to write a song that is triggered entirely by the users movements rather than by their interaction with the computer. I feel like the best way to go about this is by using the Xbox Kinect, but I haven’t been able to find any information about HOW to actually go about doing this. A lot of things say I can, but am I going in over my head for trying to figure this all out and accomplish it in about 3 months?

now i’ve also SEEN people control Max with wii motes … this is another possibility! but i don’t know how to go about accomplishing this either.

I’ve read a lot about patches and things that Max can stick together, but no information on HOW it’s done. If anyone could help or point me in the right direction then i’d really appreciate it. I don’t have the money to sink into the program yet if i don’t know if it can actually DO what i want it to.

thanks!!
Neon
