I know that objects break when you give things like send or coll the same name. I did have a text object reading and writing from a file called number.txt. But when I encountered this problem, I changed the name of the file to digit.txt, erased the file, restarted my computer and finally upgraded from version 5.0.5 to 5.0.7. I’m out of ideas.

do you have a patcher saved as “number”? if you are on Mac do a spotlight search with “number” just to be sure…
other than that I don’t know.
