i am receiving numbers from a sensor (a joystick) and sending them into a counter object. if the numbers reach and go past 1000 i want the counter object to only output 1000 until the numbers come back to below 1000 again. i noticed that counter's midright output sends a bang if the count reaches its max but i cant figure out how to solve my problem with this

Try using [minimum 1000] and a [change] too if you only want it to output "1000" once when it goes over that amount.

Don't need to use counter, just have it go straight to a number box, with maximum value set to 1000. If you are using counter, attach the output to a number box with max value 1000. Then you could look into [peak] or [split] or [>] objects to do some testing on the incoming number.

or you could use [if $i1 > 1000 out 1000 else $i1 out2]

syntax might not be totally correct there (positional wise)
