Hello All MAX/MSP Addicts,

I have currently just purchased a iLok registration. Also i have worked through the tutorials, of MAX/MSP. Which i do think are really good.

I would in all honesty LOVE to go to one of the workshops that happen around the World, and one day i will. But just not now.

The only reason i can not, is for one. I live in Dubai U.A.E. I moved over from the UK, over a year ago, and am now working at a Radio & TV Audio Production Company, as a Sound Engineer.

And 2, unlike the rest of the World that has Workshops and the like. Dubai is deprived of any such workshops or class or even knowledge of MAX/MSP.
I actually do think i am the only person here in Dubai, that knows even about MAX/MSP. Which is nice to know, but yet and Damn Curse.

So, anyhow, i will get to the point at hand.
Does ANYONE, know of ANY online courses, training and know how about MAX/MSP.
I think the tutorials that come with it are good, but i really need more. So if there is any online training or classes that someone may know of, please do share the information.
Or even any really good up-to-date books.

I am willing to pay, but i am not willing to pay for a Plane Ticket, then for a Workshop that is happening in Germany, and then have to pay for a Hotel, It has to be ONLINE, so I can then download classes.

I will do a class when i have a hell more money.

It would be great if you have some good information

Lewis

Peter Elsea has some good tutorials as well, which are linked on the
cycling74 resources page, and here’s a direct link: http://cnmat.berkeley.edu/link/1319

And Karlheinz Essl just put some tutorials for his RTC objects up on
his site – looking at those will give you more ideas about how to use
max.

http://www.essl.at/works/rtc.html#tutorial

And the list is great, as long as you -
try to figure things out yourself first
provide clear information about what you’re trying to do, and what’s
not clear to you

HTH

David

(PS Have you come across Keith Dickens in Dubai? He’s working for Al
Jazeera. Say hi from me if you meethim)

Well thanks to a lot of people who have emailed me and replied with good and helpful news… Cheers Very Much

Even a bigger shout out to Joshua Goldberg, who is actually coming over to Dubai, Abu Dhabi for business.
Then hopefully I can then learn from an actual person and not just a .pdf. I cant wait, very exciting

Cheers very much

Keep posting more ideas if you feel like
