only video grabbing

April 4, 2006 | 11:41 am

hello,,
i have little pity problem, , but i was really looking into references
etc,, and didn’t find anything.,., i can’t find attributes for
jit.qt.mov and jit.qt.grab which should set the import or grab that it
will grab it without sound,, i mean,, i know that i can depress volume
etc,, but i don’t need sound at all in my patch and so it seems better
just not to import it at all,, ,
i found only snd_active for jit.qt.grab but i’m not sure if it can do
what i need exactly.,.
thanks a lot for any help.,. ;]

In jit.qt.movie, you can remove the audio track from the movie, if you
are really concerned about playback of the audio track. You’ll have to
determine which track has audio (gettrackinfo) and then delete it
(deletetrack).

snd_active in jit.qt.grab switches sound capture on and off.

Are you sending the video to the graphics card as UYVY data. Check
the colorspace docs. Then generate the appropriate geomtetry() you
need for the lens distortion, or write a simple texture displacement
shader (see the td.*.jxs files for an example, and read the OpenGL
Orange Book for more info on shaders).

The G5 quad should be able to easily process resolutions as high as
1920×1080 as uyvy data at > 30 fps on the GPU.

Thanks a lot !!,. ;]
the thing is only about that i think {and so the question is also,, am
i right at all?} that if i will be able to grab only video signal, ,
then my cpu will has less work to do even if i don’t use sound from
this source at all.,.

so once more thanks!

Thank you Joshua,

Yes,I send the video to the graphics card as UYVY data.
But my patch is very heavy, in the same time there is a delay to 20 seconds on the video real time, 4 jit.qt.movie 256/768 and 4 submatrix, 10 jit.3m, 4 audio player etc…etc…
But thank you

I’ll try to write a simple texture displacement shade.
Bye.

This is probably one of the biggest problems. Sounds like you’ll be
paging to/from disk, unless you have huge amounts of RAM.

Well, if you can move any of this on the GPU, it would be
recommended. Otherwise it sounds like you might be trying to do more
than possible in realtime on the CPU, and may have to scale back your
resolution in exchange for an increased framerate.
