I am designing a permanent installation where a person (other people’s to the system) goes has to on/off it. Somebody knows some device to on/off a Macintosh G5 from distant (10 meters for example).

Check some of the sensor threads. To get ideas about how to get this data into your computer, etc. How you proceed depends a lot on your interest in hardware hacking.
