opening a maxpatch in edit mode

I poked through the application settings but it doesnt seem like maxpatchers are designed to open the editing mode. Is there a way to force maxpatchers to open in edit mode?

Hi,
You can do this with javascript :

yuck solution :D One would think they would put this in the settings. At least I have a master file that I save from to make new projects. I like the idea of expansive work spaces (excel spread sheets) but you do not have this option in max :(

thanks.

i think you can save a patch as a template, then you just make File > New from template.

To have a patch saved as a template, you actually need to save your thing as a regular max patch, then place it in Maxfolder > Patches > Template.

“Maxfolder > Patches > Clippings” to paste it with right click menu.

is there a way to imbed the 2 lines of java into the maxpatch rather than having a separate file?

You can do that with [quebec] on my github ( https://github.com/nicolasdanet/Grenadine ) ;-)
