Opening help file crashes Max 5

MacBook Pro 2.5 Core duo
Os X (Latest)
Max 5.0.1

Ok, maybe only an issue for a newbie like me who lives by the help and documentation.

Create a new patch, add an expr object without any values, attempt to bring up the help on it (I know it requires variables but I wasn’t sure of the syntax, hence the help) either via shift+command+H or right clicking the object and invoking help and Max will flat out crash. If you create the object, with a valid expression or at least one variable, the help will work correctly.

It has already been fixed. In the meantime, you can replace the 2 files included in the archive in C74:/docs/refpages/max-ref

Sorry for inconvenience.

If you try to load this help file from within max, or even by navigating to it using OSX Finder, MAX5 crashes for me. Anyone else get this?

Same thing just happened to me.

To recreate : double click if help patch in finder, max wil crash.

also, create new if object in a blank patcher, option-click to open help file, max hangs then crashes.

max5.0.1, osx10.5.2, macbookpro 2ghz, 2g ram.

attached is the crashlog from one of them.

on that note, is there a central public, repository of reported, or
known, bugs?

Hello cyclists.

Just started using the 5 demo version. Tried to create an if message and forgot what args I could give it. So I went to open the help file and smash. Max Crash. Four attempts, four crashes
Any ideas why?

Spec
Max 5.0.1
Leopard 10.5.2
MB Pro 2.2ghz

Thanks
John

I also got the exact same crash from this yesterday and have reported
it to the support@cycling74 address. You may want to do the same. Good
to know it’s not just on Power PC.

Specs:
Max 5.0.1
Powerbook G4 1.67Ghz
Mac OS 10.4.11
2gb RAM
