Optimization of Patch – I need a better frame rate

I’m a noob, I’m going to go straight out and say it.

I have the patch I’ve mashed up/joined etc and it’s pretty much doing what I want, I’m still building on it.

BUT my frame rate has gradually got worse.

My system is 2.6GHZ Dual Core, MBP, 256 Vid Car, 4gb Ram

I use the Apple Intermediate Codec for my clips and they’ll 640×480 but my frame rate is not much better than 14fps

Any tips suggestions, hacks would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

have you tried the vade optimizations?
http://abstrakt.vade.info/?p=147

searching the forum for “optimizations” should also reveal much information.

also check this topic : http://www.cycling74.com/forums/index.php?t=msg&th=41173&start=0&rid=1274&S=a28169f777b0afa7fb2dc88edd0e4d50

Similar to the optimization tactics presented in Vade’s patches.
Presumably also apple prores codec will give a performance boost, and it works also on windows (where intermediate codec doesn’t).

Does anyone know why an error appears whenever I try to create a new patch as “New from clipboard” by pasting the patch provided in this topic? It happened before with other patches but not with all.

The error message is:

clipboard JSON conversion
syntax error in array: line=2131, char=28, text=’…, “bang”], “fontname” : “Arial”, “patching_rect” : [ 12r’

Any advice would be welcomed!
