I recently acquired an eowave FootControl (

 ) which basically works fine, except when I plug it into the USB-port while Max 5 is running the OS X MIDIServer crashes.

So far it helped to connect FootControl _before_ starting Max, but at yesterday's rehearsal I had a hard time to get Max up and running at all: Max started and crashed immediately followed by a crash of the MIDIserver (at least that's the order of the popup windows in OS X).

A reboot didn't help at first hand, then somehow it was ok and the patch was up and running.

I contacted eowave support but so far no result.

This also happens with the supplied FootControl Editor (v1.3) which is a Max-Application.

FootControl is fine with other software (Logic, Live, PureData, ...)

I need to fix that, premiere's on Friday and this is very annoying.

Any idea what to do and/or where to look at?

I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.5 on a MBP 3,1 running Max 5.1.9 ( 48561)
