(OT) DMXUSBPRO – cannot connect to Mac

Hi,

I hope someone can help. Just bought myself Enttec DMX USB PRO,
my MBP does recognize it, but still does not connect. From
System preferences – Network I can see it, but still no use.
Where the problem could be?

Yeah, sorry, my mistake.

OSX 10.5.6 and MAX 5 and I have installed Olaf external.
Max says it’s not connected. DMX USB PRO appears in network
preferences, but it does not connect.

What model MBP do you have? I had the same issue with my first gen,
2ghz. seemed to be a crapple hardware issue since it didn’t work in
my Boot Camp partition either.

Make sure you have downloaded the latest version (1.3.5 works in Max5),
it has a pull-down menu in the help patch that lists all connected devices.
Apart from that, if it doesn’t work but shows up in the list (in
Max/MSP) it might be an issue with crappy USB port or crappy USB cable
(I once had to throw away the supplied ones that came with the
interface). Also try with laptop running on power supply instead of
battery.

and make sure that you copy the exact output of the getdevs command which is printed to the max window and then copy this in front of the open command in your message box when you connect to the device. i had the same problem until i found out that an “O” in the string turned out to be a zero or vice versa. must be something like “open /dev/cu.usbserial-ENR1OEXR”

Sorry, I’m quite new to MAX and do not get it. At least now:)

Message box says found 1 device and
/dev/usbserial-ENR0KRAN

But where exactly I should copy it?

Thanks everyone for help, got it connected.

If someone could share a simple patch to start working
on, then it would be great.
