[OT] french mac keyboard

hi

I suddenly felt stupid – having a new Mac Intel (macBook pro) since a
few weeks, i am “porting” my old patches on it (which used to run on
my PPC)

apart from a few objects not ported from max 4.5 to 4.6 all is fine

but in some of my patches i used to use the ENTER key (not RETURN),
whose ASCII code is 3

and suddenly I realise that it is not there anymore! – that is on the
french keyboard of the 17″ Macbook pro

!!!!!!!!!

anybody knows how i could produce the ASCII 3, so it is recognised by
the [key] object, or rather where is ENTER gone (of course i could
select any other key, and then using [select] transform anything into
3, but it’s more about the physical Enter key….)

many thanks

Hi Kasper.
Did you try the “right-return-key” on your macbook pro ?
(the one between right-apple-key and left-arrow-key)
On my macbook pro with german keyboard, it outputs ascii 3…

It’s working here (4.6.3, and 5.0.2) with a french keyboard too.

on all the power books I had (1400, 3400, a G3 wall street, Titanium
G4 and an aluBook) I had, on the right of the space bar a command key
and next was ENTER

on the new Intel (2×2.5) no more enter, it’s a (second) option key
(which produces no ascii since it is a modifier)

from the pictures i could see on the apple web, it’s the same now
even on US keyboards…….

ok, in the meantime i found that using the “fn”-Return combination
produces ENTER
