[OT] SF Gig Spam

Hi San Francisco Bay Maxers-

I’m playing a piece Saturday Night, 8pm, at this event:

http://milkbar.org/

at CounterPULSE, in the Mission, San Francisco, USA, Earth. Info on the web site.

My piece with Tony Discenza uses Max/MSP/Jitter and a Wacom tablet to select scan lines from his video and use the luminosity values from each plane as coefficients that are convolved with the sound from the video. His work chews up news footage; the matarial for the piece is 36 hours of Fox, MSNBC, and CNN, all from one day last summer. The result is…

…well, hope to see some of you there.

cheers,

mz

There’s a 5-minute movie with excerpts from the piece here:

I’m sorry to say that it’s 1.18 gig, or so. Hopefully your interplanetary data network is a fast one.

Space is the place,
