[OT?]Controlling standard tabletop lamp from MAX – Urgent question

October 10, 2007 | 8:08 am

Hi,
I am trying to use my new Make controller+application board to solve a last minute problem in my installation that’s do to show tomorrow…
I need to use my Max/MSP data to control the dimming of a normal tabletop reading lamp- ideally 220V but I can make it also with a 12V lamp. Since I’m really getting into this at the last minute, I could use some pointers about how to proceed with this, or links to similar projects etc..
Thanks a lot,any help would be greatly appreciated and a true lifesaver

You need a 220V relay that is controlled by one of the digital outputs of the Make controller board. Here’s some basic info:

you could also use an arduino board (cheaper than a make board)
