other way to controll parameters in Vst~

June 2, 2007 | 10:21 am

Hello,
I try to control some Absynth 4 parameters in Vst~
(Max Masp 4.6.2)
but the parameters list that Absynth give is totally incoherent.
So, I Wonder if it would be possible to (try to) command the parameters
of Absynth by sending him some message containing CC# and value.
and if possible, how ?

thank you very much

Best Regards
Eryck

ps: well, I also wrote to NI for this weiiiiird parameters list …and wait…

a quick try (with maxmsp 457 and absynth3)

_even if absynth gives Mainslider1 etc as its parametars it does not
respond to them (mainslider1 0.5 for instance does not work)
_however replacing the named params by numbers does work – message
such as 4 0.5 is understood by absynth (it’s up to you to find what
is param 4

_if you want to use CC# (in 0-127 and not 0.-1. range) a message such
as [midievent 176 1 $1] where $1 is between 0-127 works

the 176 is for channel 1 so it can go up to 191, then the control
number itself can be 1-127 – should give you enough params to fool
with (not sure if you can assign, in absynth the params yourself)

hope it helps

Absynth 4 seems much confusing that ABS3 concerning params,
the list is just totally illogical.
something like :
MacroControl1
MacroControl2
vol2-
modpitch2
etc…no sens at all; and moreover, only the first 9th and the last 6th are responding (???)
Well I will try with numbers, as you advise,
and also with the message midievent, but you are right, it’s impossible to assign parameters directly in Abs, but you can assign those sliders(by sending midiCC#) who controls parameters .
well, I hope !

otherwise, I ‘ll try Live like a host

this problem seems to be like a uncomplete code programmation

thak you to have loocked at

that’s the same in abs3

you should try the absynth yahoo list – they seem much more helpful
than NI , and B cleviger (I think that’s his name, the developer of
Absynth) answers there

hello, that’s (maybe) because you have not all the sliders linked to parameters. Absynth create sliders only if you affect parameters to it.
well, this is a true with the Abs4
