Hi,

can someone recommend a software synthesizer with free scaling?

One of our teachers want to use it for education.
Years ago he could do it with Yamaha Micro Tuning option.

Or perhaps you can tell me another option.

(Yes, I know the possibility to program it in MAXMSP.
But I don’t have the time to do it by myself.)

Best,

Juergen

in this case any modular synth is somehow a free scaling instrument (which doesn’t mean it’s easy to control the scale like you may want)

Hi Juergen
Sorry, I’m answering late — anyway: Maybe you will be happy with
Metasynth. There you can load
any scale you want (I just have the old OS9-one 2.7. But I hope,
you can still do it in Version 4.0 or so.)

I think he means something you can actually play, not just sound design.

Absynth has custom scales, works great for that

any true FM (not PM) synth can make strange tunings even with no tuning parameter. harder to calibrate though
