Output audio from sensor input

May 10, 2011 | 3:00 pm

Never used MaxMSP. Need to have audio emit when someone walks past a motion sensor. Anyone know have a patch already written for this? Or know how to do it?

Help is greatly appreciated! Thanks

This patch is pretty trivial. There are 10000 ways to do it, depending on the specific hardware and sound you want to use.

If you don’t want to learn Max, you could hire a local programmer to whip this up for you in half a day. Where are you located? If you do want to learn Max, I could make some suggestions.

I would also suggest attending some sort of course, but these days it seems tutors just fire a task at a student and expect them to do it by themselves with little or no help ; )

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0596510519/ref=redir_mdp_mobile/183-1130683-1179764. This book is really helpful I suggest that you can obtain a copy from somewhere and give it a read. Using Microcontrollers with max msp is the best way forward and give the max turtorials a shot.
Arduinos hardware controllers with max opens up a whole magically playground of interactivity!
