Papers on Max internals

January 24, 2014 | 8:46 am

Hello folks!

Please, suggest some papers which describes how Max works internally, for example info on scheduling, high- and low-priority queues, etc.

I googled this info but with no luck.

Best,
Evgeny

Hi
I found this article very informative in the past; not sure if it is as specific and detailed as you require:

http://cycling74.com/2004/09/09/event-priority-in-max-scheduler-vs-queue/

And the docs, forum etc are probably the best place to hunt:

http://cycling74.com/search-results/?q=scheduler%20queue

(just noticed we’re in the Dev tab; these resources may not be as detailed or as current as you need, but the first article does mention the SDK resources)

Thanks n00b_meister,

that was helpful. Seem like I’ve used wrong keywords for searching :)

UPD:

Am I understood correctly that high priority queue execution is driven by some kind of scheduler interrupt, and low priority queue tasks executed one by one in parallel thread in order they placed to queue? So, technically, it is possible that one object could be accessed at the same by two threads?
