Nope. The correct extension is now .maxpat. It&#8217;s also a different file  <br />
format, so you can&#8217;t save a patch in Max 5 and use it in Max 4.</p>

						<p>I imagined that it would be possible to iterate over all the objects and connections in a Max 5 patcher using js, and thereby to acquire the patcher structure and save it in a file or data structure so that it could be recalled in Max 4 for restoration using another js.  If so, one could distribute a help patcher to mediate the export to Max 4.</p>
<p>Scanning through the docs now, I don&#8217;t immediately see how to extract the connections, but I guess it&#8217;s in there somewhere?</p>
