after carefully going through the windowwatcher example in the Max SDK, I am still left with a fairly basic question.

How do I receive notifications when the patcher window is simply repositioned and not resized ? In other words, I would like to have an object contained in a patcher display the patcher's global coordinates when the patcher is simply moved.

I tried many things, but it seems unexpectedly difficult. Any tips ?

Did you try creating a UI object with the "boxscreenrectchanged" method, as noted in the main() function of the windowwatcher example?

Yes of course, that's the first thing I tried. I made a UI version of the windowwatcher external.

However, the "boxscreenrectchanged" method gets called ONLY when the windowwatcherUI external is moved or resized in the patcher window. That has nothing to do with getting notified when the patcher window itself is moved.

Note that by attaching to the patcherview I am able to receive notifications when the patcher window is resized, but NOT when it's simply moved.
