Patching Max Extensions to 64 bit: Is it a relatively simple, uniform process?

Hi there.

i’ve been wanting to use this Max for Live device, the mapulator (http://www.djtechtools.com/2012/02/16/mapulator-advanced-midi-mapping-for-ableton/) to make custom curves in a device for parameters im trying to automate. (for example, to make a instrument rack macro that controls the pitch of a vst drum kit change in steps rather than linear…) but there’s an extension necessary, SA Function, (http://cycling74.com/toolbox/sa-function/) that hasn’t been patched for 64 bit, which I’m running. The developer hasn’t responded to the comments on that page, so I think he may not be interested.

So, i’m wondering how hard it would be to try to update the patch to 64 bit myself. I’m very inexperienced, but would be willing to learn.

does anyone know how to go about this or could point me toward some resources that would help explain it? Is updating an extension to 64 bit a uniform process no matter the device? or does it change for different extensions?

alternatively, does anyone know another m4l device that can do this? it would be so great for building really musical performance racks…

Thanks!

ej.function would be close, at least.

That’s what I was going to say ;-)

You can also do a lot with function which has curve support now.
