pattr and kslider

pattr and kslider

I want to save the currently selected keys in a polyphonic kslider (actually in m4l but just in max would be a start) is there a way to do this easily? I’ve tried the obvious pattr way of doing this but it doesn’t seem to work.
I noticed an old post (5 years old!) which asked the same question but no luck there.
If it’s not possible, any pointers as to the best way to achieve this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Here’s a patch to show what I’m trying to do:

You could use [table] for storing the notes and reloading them into kslider.

Thanks broc but I can’t get that to work either. Have you done this in the past?
I’m a complete newb when it comes to pattr so I probably need to be hand held through an example :-)
I notice it’s mentioned in the autopattr help as working so I probably need to play some more.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll post again if I get it to work.

Here is a patch using [table] to store and reload the notes of [kslider].

Hi again,
ok I’ve had a bit of time to revisit this and it’s still not working for me the way I want.
Below is a max for live patch which includes a kslider, pattr and pattrstorage. I’ve gone down the table route as suggested by broc for actual storage of the values. As a max patch, I can get this to almost work, in that it stores the table but only whilst the patch is open. In max for live it just doesn’t work.

The basic premise of the patch is to store a number of different chord patterns for the kslider (1,2 & 3) and recall them (1,2 & 3), with max for live I would like these stored in the live set.

I’m using Max5 BTW.
Any help much appreciated.

The connection of pattr is wrong. You need to connect the *middle* outlet.

Brilliant!
I knew it would be something small :-)
Thanks ever so much broc, works a treat now, you’re a star!
Here’s the final working patch which works as both a Max patch and max for live patch.

In find confusing that kslider doesn’t work with pattrstorage.
It stores but it doesn’t recall.
Is there a reason for that ?

Actually it used to work, didn’t it ?

I confirm. kslider + pattr used to work in 6.1.3, it does not work any more in 6.1.4
OSX.6.8

Sorry about that. This is a known issue fixed for the forthcoming 6.1.5.

Thanks. Is there a public list of (fixed) known issues somewhere ? I would definitely save time reading it… And downgrade or not knowingly…

Look just above the words ‘Top FAQ’ and you’ll see ‘Read version changes’:

I’m talking about known issues in current version.

I can tell my patches tend to crash with 6.1.4 while they run great in 6.1.3. I would like to know why…

Does it work in standalones?
