pattrstorage crashing Max 2nd try

Hi
I am posting this quesiton again in case anyone that could help missed it , before this question gets lost in the whirlpool of questions!

I have incorporated autopattr and pattrstorage in a patch in order to store multislider (256 sliders) values to later be generated randomly.

I think it is important to mention that in this same patch has a few other tasks to do such as auto volume or panning/random 16 step sequencing/ fast triggering / pitch shift etc…

Now, shortly after trying to store in pattrstorage max crashes !!
Everytime. Is this only do to a lack of RAM? (768Mb)

Is autopattr and pattrstorage hard on cpu?
I want to use this patch live but obviously can’t have max crashing.

Thanks for anyone help or insight on this one.

There’s no known crashing issue with pattrstorage. If you can post a
simplified patch which reproduces the problem (or send to support@cycling74.com
), we’d be happy to look into your problem.

My max patch used to have a pattrstorage to store all the gui data. It seems very user-friendly and easy-to-use, but my patch started crashing when I had lots of gui objects. Using a coll instead to store all my data got rid of that.

The crashes weren’t reproducible, they just seemed to happen with heavy pattrstorage use. I’ve abandoned the object since that time, but if you can build something simple that does crash every single time, i’d like to see it just to see what causes the problem.

In the course of updating pattrstorage for Max 5, some memory leaks
were found and plugged. It’s likely that some of these leaks are
responsible for the issues you’re seeing. Nevertheless, if you can
provide a patch which, at least sometimes, demonstrates the problem,
it would be valuable.

I did find my old patch, but i’m not able to get it to crash now. Mind you, i built this nearly two years ago, there might well have been fixes in the mean time.

Patch seems to be working well, from what i can see. Stumbled upon something else while looking through the patch tho :), if there is anything relevant, i’ll let you know.
