periods in classnames

I was wondering how to put a period in my mxj classname (e.g. [mxj rm.myobject]). Periods are an illegal character for classnames in Java right? I see in ejies, and possibly elsewhere, it somehow is possible to make mxj obejects with names like this.

The unqualified class name here is “myobject”; “rm” is the package name, and it’s perfectly valid to put fully qualified names (package + class) as arguments to MXJ. The package name is generally an Internet domain name, to avoid ambiguity. (All my open-source MXJ projects have a package name starting with “net.loadbang”.)
