pitch bend as midi effect.

January 3, 2011 | 12:41 pm

is there a way to make a pitch bend effect into a midi effect that i can use on a fader rather than from a midi keyboard?

i realise there is the pitch effect in ableton, but from what i gather that moves between pitch in increments rather than bends or microtones…

thanks
ned.

should be fairly easy with the standard m4l midi effect device and [bendout] (or [xbendout] or [xbendout2])

thanks. i’ll look into that. do you know how it will behave with abletons scale plugin?

scale is changing the midinotes, the objects I mentioned send pitchbend data, so they are independent. How the pitchbend data is used depends on the settings of your sampler/synth (and sometimes its even a setting of the preset of that sampler/synth).
